Thousands Brave Rain for Franklin Graham's Rock the River West

Franklin Graham shared the Gospel three times.

Rock the River West in Fraser Valley just wrapped up! Close to 8,000 people came out in spite of steady rain to hear amazing music and a life-saving message from Franklin Graham. Four hundred sixty six young people either accepted Christ or recommitted their lives to Him today.
Brett, a 24-year old from Langley, is just one story. He became a Christian a year ago, but had a hard time living the Christian life. So when Franklin Graham issued the invitation, he recommitted his life to Christ. "Franklin is quite compelling. He kept saying to come up and I felt drawn."

Brett says the Christian life is "a paradigm shift from my previous life. It was the secular life for sure. I looked forward to partying every weekend." Now Brett wants to "get serious" about his walk.

"This is one of the coolest pushes I have seen in the Christian world and I want to be part of it if Rock the River ever comes back to Canada," he added.

Carleigh, a 19-year old from Abbotsford, had a life-changing encounter at Rock the River too: "I hadn't been in church in a really long time. And this seemed to pop up at the perfect time. I knew it was something I needed to come to."

She said she is ready to "quit thinking about myself all the time and help other people.

"Everything today has been really touching," Carleigh added. "It's been one of the most moving experiences for me. Years ago, everyone was afraid to talk about God. So this event is great where everyone talked about Jesus boldly."

BGEA will be bringing you more stories from Fraser Valley in the next couple of days. In the mean time, please pray for each and every new Christian as they get connected with local churches.

Skillet closed out the night.

Pray also for Rock the River in Edmonton and Calgary."We need people to pray," says Franklin Graham. "Pray for us as we go in the month of August.

"This is going to be a tough time," Graham adds. "There is going to be a battle that will be waged. It is a battle for the souls of men and women, of boys and girls there in Western Canada. We need people to back us with your prayers as we go."
